Dr Olivia Carter, Senior Clinical Psychologist
Olivia has been working at CCI since 2015, following the completion of her Doctor of Psychology (Clinical) at The University of Western Australia. Olivia’s Honours and Doctoral research theses both focused on the area of eating disorders. Her Honours thesis investigated predictors of dropout in outpatient treatment for eating disorders (published in Behaviour Research and Therapy, 2012), while her Doctoral thesis explored readiness and motivation to change in the treatment of adult outpatients with anorexia nervosa. Olivia delivers Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for adults with eating disorders and Family Based Therapy (FBT) for clients aged 16-18 with Anorexia Nervosa. In addition to her clinical work, Olivia has been actively involved with the Australia and New Zealand Academy for Eating Disorders (ANZAED) for the past six years, and convened ANZAED's annual binational conference in Perth (and online) in 2021. She is currently co-chair of the Academy of Eating Disorders CBT Special Interest Group and is also a board approved supervisor.
