Professor Peter McEvoy, Senior Clinical Psychologist
Peter graduated with a Masters in Clinical Psychology and PhD from the University of Western Australia, after which he worked as a clinical psychologist and service coordinator of the Anxiety Disorders Unit, St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney. Since returning to Perth he has worked at the Centre for Clinical Interventions for a number of years as a clinician and clinical researcher, and he is currently a Senior Clinical Psychologist and CCI’s Research Director. Peter is also Professor within the School of Psychology, Curtin University, where he teaches in the masters of clinical psychology program. He is an associate editor of the Journal of Anxiety Disorders, and is on the Editorial Boards for Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy and the Journal of Experimental Psychopathology. He has published over 160 peer-reviewed articles relating to the treatment of anxiety and depression, transdiagnostic approaches to conceptualising mental disorders, and mechanisms of cognitive and behavioural change. Peter’s primary areas of interest are anxiety disorders and depression, and he specialises in the treatment of social anxiety disorder, generalised anxiety disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, panic disorder, agoraphobia, body dysmorphic disorder, and depression.
